Russia has a centralized political system. It is a multiparty system that is dominated by a single party. Oppositions to the government are not allowed. People don’t have the freedom to vote for the other parties. Putin is the head of state for nearly two decades, and he is highly criticized because of his policies. Security forces are answerable to civil authorities but in some regions. Russian Federation has an authoritarian government that censored the information against the government or hide the reports of violations of human rights, and it has such a large area. So it isn’t easy to find that people who get their fundamental rights are given and protected by governments.

There are many reports that the government is involved in human rights abuse. Government interferes in local as well as regional elections to prevents the public from electing their government.

Censorship is applied to state media, so they not criticized government policies, and people don’t stand in front of their government. Journalists are abducted and killed by an unidentified person due to their activities. Freedom of speech should be ban, and police could be used to suppress peaceful protests. Corruption is widespread in national institutions. The government made it difficult for the NGOs s to their works. There are many examples of social discrimination. According to the international human rights organizations, violation of human rights is common in Russia; people are killed in custody and torture in prison by security. Political oppositions, journals, and those criticized were assassinated by the government — politicians and the elite class influence the judicial system. People who were investigated corruption are assassinated and abducted by authorities.

It is difficult to say whether Russia is a closed society or an open society! People don’t get their rights and are suppressed by the government. We can see how Putin still rules Russia after two decades. In the presidency, the government claims that it would be fair and transparent, and people will be free to elect their president. But in reality, these claims were a fraud — discrimination, racism, and killing of ethnic members. People were killed and abuse daily. There is a decrease in Putin’s reputation due to Russia’s involvement in the Syrian war. Putin announces a new social policy to satisfy their public and to stable his image. As per government claims, there is no good health care and education system, threatening Putin’s reputation, who try to amend the constitution to stay in power till 2024. Due to the crackdown on opposition and assassination of opposition leaders, the public doesn’t have a political alternative to whom they support or to vote. Government has a lack of long-term planning and accountability in better services.
